A little about who we are!

At the turn of the century, 25 years after Colorado became a state, people in rural Southeast Colorado needed a local bank that understood the unique requirements, challenges, and values of the residents and businesses of that region. First National Bank Colorado was founded in Las Animas in 1901 to serve that purpose.

Our bank is still locally owned and operated by folks with deep roots in the communities we serve. Our daily commitment is to meet the unique needs of our neighbors, guided by the traditional values we all share.

We still put honesty, integrity, and helping others above all. Through agricultural and business loans, mortgages, and a broad range of other financial services, we work hard every day to help local businesses grow, residents thrive, and communities prosper.

Why is locally owned important?

  • You’ll get a quicker decision regarding your banking needs.
  • You won’t need to explain the challenges you face in ranching, farming, or starting a business. We get it.
  • Your money stays local – every loan we make is an investment in you, your family, or your neighbors.
