At the turn of the century, 25 years after Colorado became a state, people in rural Southeast Colorado needed a local bank that understood the unique requirements, challenges and values of the residents and businesses of that region. First National Bank was founded in Las Animas in 1901, to serve that purpose.
While our founders wouldn’t recognize many of the services we offer today – online banking, mobile banking, ATMs and debit cards – they would be perfectly at home with our values.
We still put honesty, integrity and helping others above all. Through agricultural and business loans, mortgages and a broad range of other financial services, we work hard every day to help local businesses grow, residents thrive and communities prosper.
